Bhutan
An endemic
subspecies of the Golden Langur Trachypithecus geei bhutanensis
(ARKive)
was
described in 2003. There are two lizards known only from
Bhutan: Calotes
bhutanensis (Reptile
Database) and Mabuya
(or Eutropis)
quadratilobus
(p. 5 of Asiatic
Herpetology pdf file). The Bhutan Cat-eyed Toad Scutiger bhutanensis
(CAT.INIST) was
described in 2001.
Invertebrates include 71 endemic species of
spiders (p. 16 of Zoos'
Print pdf file) including a goblin spider Camptoscaphiella hilaris (AMNH), an endemic genus of wolf spider Dorjulopirata (World Spider Catalog), a money spider Heterolinyphia secunda (Biologiezentrum pdf file), a huntsman spider Bhutaniella dunlopi (World Spider Catalog),
and the jumping spiders Telamonia laecta (Salticidae
of the World) and Epocilla chimakothiensis (J-Stage pdf file). Other endemic invertebrates include the recently rediscovered Ludlow’s Swallowtail Bhutanitis ludlowi (Tashi Delek), a longhorned beetle Ulochaetes vacca (p. 5 of Biologiezentrum pdf file), a net-winged beetle Melaneros holzschuhi (BHL), a rove beetle Othius bhutanensis (p. 21 of Biologiezentrum pdf file) , and a freshwater crab Liotelphusa wuermlii (p. 5 of Biologiezentrum pdf file).
There are about 105 vascular plants unique to Bhutan
