Faroe Islands
The Faroe Islands are an autonomous province of Denmark.
A freshwater fish, the Faroe Charr Salvelinus faroensis (Ittiofauna) is known only from Lake Leynavatn.
A genus of tardigrades Austeruseus (Zootaxa pdf file) with three species has recently been described.
There is a single endemic species of vascular plant, an eyebright Euphrasia atropurpurea (Botanisk Have & Museum).
