Turkey
includes portions of three biodiversity hotspots: the Mediterranean
Basin (Biodiversity

Hotspots). The Eastern Anatolian Deciduous
Forests (EoE)
and the Southern Anatolian Montane Conifer and Deciduous
Forests (EoE)
are important terrestrial ecoregions and the Anatolian
Freshwater (WWF)
is a key aquatic region.
